Pause & Reflect
Posted on 09. Mar, 2009 by Sujimy in Blog
Have you ever had a moment that made you stop and ponder about things? I just had one recently. Was returning home one day and there it was… the biggest rainbow I have ever seen in my life! I have seen some in the past but nothing close to this. The colours were so clear. Every single one of them. Really tanda kebesaran Allah.
I took a handphone photo but it was really bigger & closer than what you see here…. Sorry lah macam orang jakun, but honestly you don’t get this kind of encounter unless it was meant for you to see it.
My wife, kids and I stared at it for a whole 15 minutes and I took that chance to explain to my kids how rainbows were formed. They were thrilled!
But this sighting got me thinking of Allah’s other great creations and you can’t help but to reflect what you have done to appreciate them.
When I went back to office the next day I started staring at things our company have done and things we would like to get into. Somehow, there’s a bigger purpose to everything… I began to cut “fats”, trim the team and spend time realigning things. It was great to ponder and steer things to a greater good.
At home, this sighting encouraged me to explain to my kids every little thing or kejadian.
Do share with me your enlightening moment.

Hi Sujimy, beautiful share.
I went to Aceh few years ago, only to realize that the orphans are well protected and cared for by a higher power you can almost feel to the bone literally when you’re there, and that we are the ones who need to be saved.
Morning time, and there were echoes of Azan around the area, due to the disunited efforts by the different schools in that same area to call to prayer with just one representative. The Hikmah behind the situation.
Sunrise. Waters. Kids who have lost their parents from the waters climbing rocks and jumping head first into those same waters. They forgive even the waters. Aceh. An enlightening moment for me. =)

Thanks for sharing guys! It’s really nice to hear your experiences. I met a guy called Yunus – the official photographer for Pesta Perdana 10 and he told me about the many events and occurrences that had enlightened him. He is about the same age as me. And I realized as we approach the age of 40 (not you guys lah eh), you begin to meet more and more of such encounters. It will really make you ponder hard.

It’s always important to have a higher purpose. Or else, we will just be alive, but not having a life.
At times, we do need to pause, take a step back, and widen our vision to realise how great life is. Then we will be grateful for every little thing that has been blessed upon us.
It’s great to see you, such an inspiring person, sharing your perspectives in life. Congrats on the virtual space that has your name stamped on it
Cheerio!

You said, “And I realized as we approach the age of 40 (not you guys lah eh), you begin to meet more and more of such encounters. It will really make you ponder hard.”
Whoa… This reminds me. Did you know, Muhammad (saw) a few months before diangkatkan untuk menjadi nabi, also experienced similar stuff too? Yup, he experienced true visions and encountered things like being greeted by the surroundings.
Talk about life beginning at 40.
What you shared just made me realised just how deep and profound this transitional process is. : )

Shaheed: I totally agree and thank you for your kind words.
Alfian: Whoa… you can say that again! Syukur that we get petunjuk ye tak? Life truly begins at 40!
